Thanks. I don't like looking at a blank page in photoshop, so I just start moving the wacom pen, scribbling away until I start seeing forms and take it from there. The idea started as a samurai-type character that sort of evolved into a full-plate warrior wearing an over-the-top headdress. The armor is still very samurai-inspired despite it being plate-metal. I like the combination.
I've always been a fan of dramatic profile shots and love using heavy contrast with lots of dark tones, as far as imagery goes. I did not, however, use any references for any of it, if that's what you meant.
Looks pretty neat. What inspired you to create this? Where did the imagery come from?
